Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms govern the Worbi apps, website, accounts, community features, and Premium purchases. By using Worbi or confirming a purchase you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you downloaded Worbi from the Apple App Store or Google Play, those stores’ terms also apply to the download and to purchases made through them.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Worbi, or older where the law of your country requires a higher minimum age for consenting to online services. If you are under the age of majority, a parent or legal guardian must approve your use of Worbi and any purchase.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting your sign-in methods, and for activity performed through your account. Tell us if you believe your account has been compromised. Accounts and Premium entitlements are personal and may not be sold or transferred.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Upload illegal, abusive, hateful, threatening, or harmful content.
• Infringe privacy, copyright, trademark, or other rights.
• Harass other users or publish someone’s personal information without permission.
• Access another person’s account or data.
• Scrape, attack, overload, or disrupt Worbi, or introduce malicious code.
• Circumvent security, purchase verification, Premium limits, moderation, or account restrictions.
• Reuse, sell, transfer, or manipulate purchase tokens, receipts, promo codes, or referrals, or fraudulently obtain trials, rewards, refunds, or Premium access.

Content you publish must also follow the Community Guidelines.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create. You grant the operator of Worbi a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, copy, and display that content as necessary to provide the service. If you publish or share content, this licence includes making it available to the audience you selected. You are responsible for having the right to upload and share what you post.

6. Community content

Published collections, votes, and comments are visible to other users, including visitors who are not signed in. We may review, hide, or remove content that violates these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or the law, and may warn, restrict, or suspend accounts responsible for it. Community content is not guaranteed to be accurate or suitable for a particular learning goal. Content can be reported directly in the app; publishing is automatically suspended for content that receives a sufficient number of independent reports pending review.

7. Worbi and licensed content

The Worbi software, design, branding, and original content belong to the operator of Worbi or its licensors. Dictionary and example-sentence content includes material licensed from Folkets lexikon, Lexin (ISOF), Wiktionary, SALDOM (Språkbanken), and Tatoeba contributors. Details and licence texts are available in the app under Profile → About → Licenses.

8. Free and Premium services

Worbi offers free functionality and paid Premium functionality. The benefits, price, and billing period of each Premium product are shown before purchase. Premium products may include auto-renewing subscriptions, free or introductory trials where offered by the store, promotional offers, and one-time purchases.

9. Store billing

Digital purchases in the iOS app are processed by Apple’s In-App Purchase system; purchases in the Android app are processed by Google Play Billing. Prices and currencies are supplied by the store and may vary by country and tax rules. Apple or Google charges your store account, and Worbi never receives your card or bank details. A purchase is activated only after the store confirms it and Worbi’s server verifies it.

10. Auto-renewing subscriptions

Subscriptions renew automatically at the price and billing period shown at purchase unless cancelled before the renewal date. Cancelling stops future renewals; Premium access normally continues until the end of the period already paid for. Cancel through your store account:

• Apple: apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
• Google Play: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions

Deleting the app, or deleting your Worbi account, does not cancel a store subscription.

11. Trials and offers

Trials and introductory offers are available only to users the store identifies as eligible. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, a trial converts into a paid subscription at the price shown at purchase. Creating another Worbi account does not create a right to another trial. Promotional access, free Premium days, and referral rewards have no cash value, are personal and non-transferable, and may be revoked in cases of fraud, abuse, refund, or violation of the promotion rules.

12. Refunds

Refunds for store purchases are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play, subject to their policies and applicable law. If a purchase is refunded, reversed, or revoked, Worbi may remove the related Premium entitlement; this does not delete your folders, collections, cards, or study history. Nothing in these Terms limits a refund or remedy required by consumer law.

13. Price changes

Subscription prices may change, for example due to taxes, exchange rates, or changes to Premium functionality. Apple or Google provides the notice or consent process their rules and applicable law require; a changed recurring price applies no earlier than the renewal the store permits. If you do not accept a new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.

14. Account deletion and purchases

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Account, or via the account deletion page. Deletion permanently removes your Worbi account, content, and entitlement records from active systems. It does not cancel a store subscription, does not by itself create a refund, and does not prevent Apple or Google from retaining their own transaction records. Cancel the store subscription first if you do not want future charges.

15. Consumer rights

Consumers in the EU and elsewhere may have mandatory rights regarding digital services, conformity, cancellation, or withdrawal. Where required, the purchase flow may ask you to consent to immediate access to digital content and acknowledge how that affects a withdrawal right. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot legally be waived.

16. Availability, suspension, and termination

We aim to provide Worbi with reasonable care but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change for security, legal, technical, or product reasons; for paid users we will not intentionally remove the essential value described at purchase without notice and any remedy required by law or store rules. We may restrict or suspend an account in cases of fraud, abuse, payment manipulation, unlawful activity, security risk, or serious violation of these Terms; any effect on a paid subscription is handled consistently with applicable law and store rules.

17. Disclaimers and liability

Worbi is a learning aid and does not guarantee a particular educational result or the accuracy of every dictionary entry or community contribution. To the extent permitted by law, the operator of Worbi is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses. Nothing excludes liability or consumer protection that cannot legally be excluded.

18. Apple-specific terms

If Worbi was downloaded from the App Store: these Terms are between you and the operator of Worbi, not Apple; the operator, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its support; Apple is not responsible for claims relating to Worbi except where Apple’s own terms or applicable law state otherwise; and Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce applicable Apple-related provisions as third-party beneficiaries. Where no custom licence applies, Apple’s Standard EULA supplements these Terms for the App Store download.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of Sweden. Consumers retain mandatory protections under the law of their country of residence.
