Worbi vs Anki for learning Swedish vocabulary
Anki is a general flashcard app you build yourself: free on computers and Android, paid on iPhone, with FSRS as an option. Worbi is made only for Swedish-English vocabulary: type a Swedish word and the card fills in the translation, examples and inflections, then FSRS schedules reviews. Choose Anki for control, Worbi for speed.
What is the main difference between Worbi and Anki?
Anki is a general flashcard app. It works for medicine, law, music or any language, because you decide what goes on each card. That freedom is its strength, and it means a Swedish card is only as good as the fields you fill in.
Worbi does one thing: Swedish-English vocabulary. It has a Swedish-English dictionary built in, so the work of looking up a word and writing the card is done for you.

How do you make a Swedish card in each app?
In Anki you add a note and type into its fields. A good Swedish noun card usually needs the word with en or ett, the meaning, the definite and plural forms and an example sentence. You look those up yourself, or you start from a shared deck that someone else built.
In Worbi you type the Swedish word. Type hund and the card already holds en hund, the translation, example sentences and the forms hunden, hundar and hundarna. You can also photograph a page, pick the words you want, and Worbi reads the text on your phone and makes the cards.
If noun gender is new to you, the guide en or ett explains why every card should carry it.
Do Worbi and Anki schedule reviews the same way?
They can. Both support FSRS, the open scheduler that predicts when you are about to forget a card and brings it back just before that. In Anki, FSRS is an option you enable in the deck options, and you can tune its settings. In Worbi, FSRS-4.5 is always on and there is nothing to configure.
Worbi adds a few study modes on top. The Study tab runs sessions across all your collections. A Mistakes list keeps the words you got wrong, so you can study them on their own. Practice on a folder or collection lets you drill a set ahead of schedule without pulling its reviews forward. Read more in spaced repetition and FSRS, explained.
What does each app cost?
Anki is free on Windows, macOS and Linux, AnkiDroid is free on Android, and AnkiWeb sync is a free service. AnkiMobile, the official iPhone and iPad app, is a one-time purchase that helps fund Anki's development.
Worbi is free to download and use on iPhone, with an optional Premium subscription. An Android version is coming soon.
Where does ready-made Swedish content come from?
Anki users share decks on AnkiWeb, and you can download one from the Get Shared button in the app.
Worbi has Community collections: Swedish word sets that other learners publish, which you can add to your own library and study with the same scheduler. For a starting list, see common Swedish words to learn first.
